SEPTEMBER 9, 2009--The Camera Link version of the svs340 camera (640 x 480 pixels) can be accelerated up to 400 frames/s; with GigE interface it reaches 264 frames/s. The 1/3-in. CCD with a pixel size of 7.4 x 7.4 μm is read out via two taps. The analog CCD signal is processed using "Correlated Double Sampling" (CDS); digital signal conversion guarantees an excellent signal-to-noise ratio. The internal microcontroller allows different ways to adjust the operating mode (such as 2 x 2 binning), exposure time, and gain and offset. Synchronization of image capture to an external event can be adjusted by the user. The exposure time of the camera can be either modified via serial Camera Link interface or by trigger pulsewidth.

PRESS RELEASE

High-speed camera svs340 for machine vision

In many areas of industrial machine vision a high frame rate of the camera is equivalent to a high throughput of parts and therefore a competitive advantage for the complete system.

SVS-VISTEK GmbH reacts to the industries efforts in achieving always higher velocities with a high-speed strategy: By overclocking up to 80MHz the highest possible frame rates can be reached with the available sensors, without a noticeable loss of quality.

The camera svs340 (640 x 480 pixel) as Camera Link version can be accelerated up to 400fps, with GigE interface it reaches still 264fps. The 1/3 inch CCD with a pixel size of 7,4 x 7,4 μm is read out via 2 taps. Additionally the svs340 impresses with its compact design.

Unique processing of the analogue CCD signal using "Correlated Double Sampling" (CDS) and digital signal conversion guarantees an excellent signal to noise ratio.

The internal microcontroller allows different ways to adjust the operating mode (e.gl. 2x2 binning), exposure time as well as gain and offset. Also the synchronisation of image capture to an external event can be adjusted by the user. The exposure time of the camera can be either modified via the serial Camera Link interface or by trigger pulse width. The camera has a CameraLink interface with "base" configuration or a GigEinterface.

The svs340 is available with monochrome and color sensor. For system integration and camera configuration we provide useful software tools with the camera. The matching Camera Link frame grabber with e.g. shading correction on board or Bayer pattern conversion (colour applications) is also on offer.

SVS-VISTEK GmbH is a leading supplier of reliable high-resolution digital cameras and customized imaging systems for machine vision. Our customers benefit from our experience in distribution and development of more than 20 years.
