JUNE 18, 2009--RecogniSense is a single-camera, single-cable 3-D recognition system providing robotic guidance without the use of calibration targets or structured lighting. Utilizing the latest in power over Gigabit Ethernet technology and a patent-pending interface, the system features ease of operation, high flexibility, low investment, decreased mean time to repair, and increased mean time between failure. The visual recognition system provides six degrees of freedom (X,Y,Z, Rx, Ry, Rz) plus object recognition output in less than 150 ms for a 6 x 4-ft field of view. It is capable of interfacing with automation that accepts data via RS-232 or Ethernet communication standards.

PRESS RELEASE
Visual Recognition
Comau, a worldwide leader in automated production systems, proudly introduces RecogniSense: a single camera, 3-D recognition system providing robotic guidance without the use of calibration targets or structured lighting. Utilizing the latest in power over gigabit Ethernet technology and a patent pending interface, RecogniSense features extreme ease of operation, high flexibility, low investment, decreased Mean Time To Repair, and increased Mean Time Between Failure. Born from the realization that today's machine vision based robotic guidance is much too complicated and costly, Comau's RecogniSense is a single camera, single cable, simply programmed visual recognition system providing six (6) degrees of freedom (X,Y,Z, Rx, Ry, Rz) plus object recognition output in a process time under 150ms for a 6'x4' field of view. Capable of interfacing with automation that accepts data via RS-232 or Ethernet communication standards, RecogniSense simplifies the machine vision genre to its simplest form.
