DECEMBER 10, 2009--Obzerv Technologies (Quebec, QC, Canada; www.obzerv.com), a designer and manufacturer of range-gated imaging systems for night surveillance, has secured a contract with the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Panama City Division for its ARGC-2400 long-range night vision camera.

The U.S Navy will test the active range-gated ARGC-2400 camera by conducting data collection efforts at multiple Navy locations where environmental conditions are the limiting factor for surveillance capabilities and analyzing the performance.

"The ARGC-2400 camera is unique in that it is the only commercially available, affordable long-range gated camera that can capture and display clear visual data without interference from parasitic light and adverse weather conditions (snow, fog, rain). The ARGC-2400 can see through glass and read markings, is rugged and waterproofed. The ARGC-2400 can also be slaved to radars or other detection systems," says Steve Schelfhout from NSWC Panama City Division.

The US Navy was Obzerv's first customer and the ARGC-2400 is designed to meet their specific requirements. "This contract is another confirmation of Obzerv's leadership in the long-range night vision arena. Governments around the world are specifying laser range-gated technology in their security programs, confirming the significant operational advantage of Obzerv's technology," says Deni Bonnier, president of Obzerv Technologies.
