APRIL 28, 2009--Allied Vision Technologies (Ahrensburg, Germany; www.alliedvisiontec.com) announced the expansion of its North American operations at The Vision Show, which took place in Phoenix, AZ, USA, from March 31 to April 2. Following the acquisition of Prosilica (Burnaby, BC, Canada) in July 2008, the camera manufacturer increased the floor space of its US subsidiary in Newburyport, MA, USA, and strengthened its sales team with two new representatives.
AVT, Allied Vision Technologies' US subsidiary, has assumed responsibilities for sales activities in North America for both AVT FireWire cameras and Prosilica GigE Vision cameras. The headquarters located in Newburyport has added 30% more space. AVT now occupies all three floors of the building with offices, warehousing, and technical support. The additional space is fueled by AVT's sales and product growth in North America.
As a result of the Prosilica integration, the North American sales organization has been strengthened with two new salespeople. David Frosini, previously a regional sales manager for Prosilica USA, has joined the AVT sales team and is in charge of the central region for both AVT and Prosilica cameras. Frosini is based in Rochester, NY, USA. Joe Fabian has been hired to strengthen the team in the western region. Based in Reno, NV, USA, Fabian has more than 20 years of experience in the automation and motion control industry. The new sales team is lead by Michael Troiano, AVT's national sales manager, who has oversight for AVT's sales in North and South America.
"The Vision Show in Phoenix was a great opportunity to demonstrate our new strength in North America on a common booth with Prosilica," comments Michael Cyros, CEO of Allied Vision Technologies. "With our extended FireWire and GigE product lineup, our expanded office and our new sales organization, we are all set to offer American machine-vision system developers state-of-the-art technology and even better technical and sales support out of one hand."
