APRIL 23, 2009--The shutterless 384 x 288-pixel, 25-µm-pitch MICROCAM thermal imaging camera module weighs 26 g (1 oz) and features a 4 x 4-cm (1.57 x 1.57-in.) board size, along with <0.6 W power consumption. The XTi shutterless technology combined with the MICROCAM provide a solid-state IR imager with no mechanical moving parts or interruption to vision.

The shutterless 384x288 25µ pitch MICROCAM module was unveiled last week at the largest international symposium for sensors –SPIE Defense, Security and Sensing Conference (DSS) in Orlando. Visitors to the event were in awe of MICROCAM's 26g (1oz) feather-weight and 4x4cm (1.57x1.57 inch) board size but were even more impressed by its frugal <0.6 Watt power consumption - a full THIRD LESS than that of the closest competing product launched at the DSS show by another leading thermal imaging camera manufacturer.
