FRAMOS announces new Sony image sensor with four-directional polarizer
FRAMOS has announced the IMX253MZR/MYR CMOS 12.37 MPixel global shutter image sensor, built for 1.1" optical formats, with a 3.45 µm pixel size, that can provide 64 fps at 10 bits.
The IMX253MZR/MYR features an on-chip four-directional polarizer directly applied to the photodiode of the image sensor, designed for industrial applications that make visibility and sensing difficult, such as low-contrast or HDR conditions.
According to FRAMOS, the new sensor is appropriate for surface scratch detection, particle inspection, and distortion and shape recognition of low-contrast or transparent objects. Mass production begins in fall 2019, with evaluation samples now available.
