Agro Dutch Industries chooses machine-vision partner

AUGUST 10--Agro Dutch Industries, a producer and exporter of mushrooms in India, recently chose US-based machine-vision supplier Applied Vision (Akron, OH, USA; www.appliedvision.com) to design and manufacture the inspection system for its new easy-open end line. Chandigarh-based Argo Dutch is expanding operations to include the manufacture of its own cans to ensure high-quality products and expand export sales. The new operation will include India's first full-aperture, easy-open end line fitted with Applied Vision's Genius inspection system driven by digital Gigabit Ethernet technology.

Applied Vision's Genius Food End Inspection System combines powerful yet easy-to-use algorithms with Gigabit Ethernet camera technology. The system can inspect from 200 to 600 series ends, automatically detecting defects such as compound skips, foreign objects, dents, scratches, and curl defects. Integrated alarm functions also notify the operator of process trends so the cause of the defects can quickly be identified and corrected, reducing overall spoilage.
