AUGUST 16--The eXcite intelligent camera series from Basler-VC (Ahrensburg, Germany; www.basler-vc.com) now supports release 7.1.1 of HALCON from MVTec Software GmbH (Munich, Germany; www.mvtec.com). HALCON software library contains more than 1150 operations. With the newest HALCON release, speed improvements of up to 200% are possible.

The eXcite intelligent camera family merges Basler's digital camera technology and a 1.0-GHz Linux PC in one small housing. The eXcite offers the capability of both capturing and processing images based on C++ application software. The eXcite's interface includes USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet, and digital I/O connections. Results can be fed directly into a production process and trigger removal of defective parts from an assembly line.

Basler-VC designs and manufactures advanced vision components for industrial users. Products include color and monochrome linescan, basic area-scan, and intelligent area-scan digital cameras.
