NOVEMBER 1--PixeLINK (Ottawa, ON, Canada; www.pixelink.com) has announced that revenues reached a record level for FY2006, ended August 30. Sales revenue increased 21% over FY2005 based on strong increases in the machine-vision market. The growth exceeded the market average of 11.9% and took place during a major restructuring of the company that included a change in senior management.

Said PixeLINK president & CEO Michael McKay, "2006 was a challenging year. Restructuring is never fun but we managed to make the necessary changes. With support from our distribution channel partners and our suppliers and the diligent work of our employees, we have revamped our operations and improved product lead times to five days on standard products. As a team, we are very pleased with the results of our efforts in FY2006."

In addition to revamped operations, PixeLINK has also been active introducing new products by redesigning the PL-A series of cameras. Called the "B" series, the new line supports large-scale manufacturing with an expandable modular design. As well as an IEEE-1394 FireWire interface, the "B" series cameras can be purchased with a USB 2.0 interface. The USB 2.0 interface is expected to increase sales in the microscopy market where the plug-and-play simplicity of USB is an asset.

The entire product line is supported by a single Application API, which allows customers to switch interface types without having to modify their application software. Existing applications for the FireWire PL-A series cameras will also work for the PL-B USB 2.0 cameras.
