SEPTEMBER 21--Firstsight Vision (www.firstsightvision.co.uk) is offering an opportunity to find out more about GigE Vision and GenIcam technologirs, the two new standards that will be a huge influence on the way that machine-vision cameras are interfaced in the future. A free technology briefing will be held at the RBS Williams F1 Conference Centre, Grove, Oxfordshire, UK, Wednesday, 22 November 2006.

Firstsight Vision is part of the Stemmer Imaging Group, founder member of the groups that have been working on both standards under the auspices of the European Machine Vision Association. With version 1.0 of the GenIcam standard having been officially released in September, attendees at this meeting will be among the first to meet and discuss with members of the GigE standards committee, as well as gaining valuable knowledge on the technology and its advantages through a series of presentations.

Topics covered will include detailed explanations of the GigE Vision and GenIcam standards and their interrelation, together with a discussion of their future importance. There will be practical examples of the technology in action, as well as the opportunity to meet manufacturers.

Registration details and a full program for the day can be obtained from Ruth Thompson, e-mail: [email protected].
