SEPTEMBER 13--In a move to complement its existing operating base in Asia, Basler Vision Components (Ahrensburg, Germany; www.basler-vc.com) has opened a sales office in Yokohama, Japan. Neopt will remain as its distributor and will continue to service established Japanese business. Tadao Tamaru will head the sales office. He has been working as key account manager in technically focused markets.
Basler opened its first Asian subsidiary in 1995, and today operates subsidiaries in Singapore and Taiwan, along with sales offices in Korea, Shanghai, and most recently, in Japan. Until now, Basler-VC has provided industrial digital-camera products to various industries in Asia through its Singapore office. However, by adding a new sales base in Japan, the company has strengthened its Asian network.
