OCTOBER 25--Point Grey Research (Vancouver, BC, Canada; www.ptgrey.com), a developer of advanced digital camera technology products, has announced the opening of a new sales office in Munich, Germany.

OCTOBER 25--Point Grey Research (Vancouver, BC, Canada; www.ptgrey.com), a developer of advanced digital camera technology products, has announced the opening of a new sales office in Munich, Germany. Point Grey's European customer base includes academic institutions and OEM organizations, as well as industrial and machine-vision application designers. The company's line of IEEE-1394a and 1394b cameras and stereo and spherical vision systems address the complex and demanding requirements of European imaging applications.

Point Grey complies with the Reduction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive from the European Union and marks EEE products with the WEEE symbol. Point Grey began shipping RoHS-compliant products in April 2006. It now offers a broad range of RoHS-compliant products including the Dragonfly2, Flea2, Firefly MV, Scorpion, Ladybug2, and Bumblebee2 and expects to offer more RoHS-compliant products by the end of 2006.

Point Grey's Munich office, managed by Christian Loeb, will handle all product inquiries and orders for Europe. The company also maintains offices in North America and partners with a network of distributors in countries such as Japan and Korea.
