JULY 11--National Instruments (Austin, TX, USA) is hosting the Vision Summit at NIWeek 2006--a premier vision-industry event sponsored by Vision Systems Design. Since 1995, engineers, scientists, and educators worldwide have gathered at NIWeek to learn about cost-efficient, flexible technologies for creating advanced test, control, and design solutions. The Vision Summit at NIWeek will feature interactive presentations, hands-on workshops, and a floor exhibition with many of the world's top vision companies. The three-day summit, which begins August 8, 2006, will have keynotes from Steve Varga, senior research engineer at Proctor & Gamble, and Al Bovic, director of the laboratory for image and video engineering at the University of Texas, Austin.

Vision Summit attendees will have the opportunity to further their knowledge on lighting and optics with presentations from companies such as Advanced Illumination and Edmund Optics; learn about the latest camera technologies from companies such as Basler Vision, FLIR, and Sony; and develop their expertise in image-processing techniques and software from National Instruments.
