MAY 23--RTVision.h system, developed by QUISS (Puchheim, Germany; www.quiss.com) for monitoring profiled beads used in adhesive applications, produces precise results and improves efficiency thanks to a clever lighting and image-capturing concept. The RTVision.h system has a compact sensor installed directly onto the adhesive-application nozzle and contains the lighting as well as the lenses from several synchronous cameras. From the application nozzle, the cameras capture the adhesive bead from different views and together provide a 360° image of the track. The sensor has a direct view of all the dimensions of the track during execution and automatically follows any change of direction when the robot runs.

The projected lighting from a high-power LED circularly bevels around the bead, better gauging it than conventional vertical light sources and therefore revealing more application mistakes, including those in hard-to-reach places. This is how the RTVision.h system achieves inspection quality, exposes hidden weaknesses in production, and opens up new perspectives in quality management and process optimization.

The RTVision.h is produced without expensive components such as laser projectors or tracking systems. All of the components are maintenance-free and withstand wear and tear. It does not require a moving cable, slip rings, or joints that wear down over time and need to be replaced, which can result in the unit being out of order. Even the LED lighting component is maintenance-free and does not require any special safety measures, as opposed to the laser alternative. This translates into a minimum of setup and maintenance time with maximum reliability and productivity during the application process.

QUISS has been developing systems for automated inspection of the adhesive application and sealing process since 1988 and has a large number of installed systems worldwide. All of the systems are flexible and easy to integrate and user-friendly.
