FEBRUARY 8--The world market leaders from the machine-vision industry will meet again in Stuttgart from 7 to 9 November 2006 to present their latest product developments and innovations. Meike Krutinat, VISION project manager, is looking forward to the new trade fair year with optimism: "We are expecting a fully booked up event again this year and are confident that the number of exhibitors will increase from 196 to more than 200."

VISION covers the entire spectrum of machine vision. The exhibitors in halls 1.0 to 4.1 will present, for example, machine vision applications and components and measuring systems that are used in practically every industry. They include cameras, frame grabbers, optical and lighting solutions, processors, complete system solutions, identification systems, and services. This means that all users will find answers to their questions at VISION.

Every year VISION reaffirms its claim to be the world's most extensive platform for innovations in the machine vision industry. In the last three years the number of foreign exhibitors has risen continuously from 33% (2003) to 40% (2005). The number of visitors has also increased from 4412 (2003) to 5117 (2005); 27% of these visitors came from abroad. Practically every visitor (97%) is also planning to come back to VISION this year.

The Industrial Vision Days, which are coordinated by the German Engineering Federation (VDMA), are another important aspect of the trade fair. Experts from industrial enterprises, institutes and other research facilities present the latest developments and information from the world of machine vision during this event. This free forum is held on all three days of the trade fair and attracts an increasing number of participants with a thirst for knowledge every year.

The VISION Award will be presented again this year. For 14 years now, Messe Stuttgart has been honoring outstanding machine-vision products, system solutions, or processes through the presentation of this prize. Every company, university, and research institute involved in the machine-vision industry is invited to take part in this competition, whether or not they are an exhibitor at VISION.
