MARCH 14--Basler (Ahrensburg, Germany; www.basler-vc.com) scout and pioneer camera series have won a 2007 iF Product Design Award in the Industry/Buildings category. The housing design for the two camera series was developed by Basler-VC engineers working in close collaboration with Bachorski Design. Specializing in industrial design, this agency supported Basler during the entire product-development cycle and was instrumental in creating an esthetically pleasing yet functional design that could meet the requirements of Basler's customers. Design quality, workmanship, and choice of materials, as well as level of innovation, environmental friendliness, functionality, ergonomics, brand value, and design universality, were just some of the benchmark criteria used by the jury of international experts in their evaluations.
The Basler scout and pioneer cameras feature Gigabit Ethernet and FireWire-b interfaces and are equipped with a wide selection of CCD sensors ranging in size from VGA to 2 Mpixels.
