New distributor in Japan for eXcite camera series

MARCH 1--Basler-VC (Ahrensburg, Germany; www.basler-vc.com) has chosen LinX (Yokohama, Japan; www.linx.jp), manufacturer of "GINGA" frame-grabber boards and products ranging from one-, two-, and four-channel analog devices to two- and four-channel Camera Link devices, as its sales representative for the eXcite camera line in Japan. Under terms of the agreement, LinX will sell Basler's eXcite cameras in Japan, as well as provide training and support for the products. LinX offers educational training classes on a regular basis and has distributed MVTec's Halcon products for more than 10 years.

Basler's other linescan and area-scan camera models are being represented in Japan by Neopt (www.neopt.co.jp). Neopt, launched in 1989 as a joint venture between NOK corporation in Japan and Perkin Elmer Optoelectronics (formerly EG&G) in the USA, started distributing Basler's camera products one year ago. Neopt supplies a range of optoelectronic products from photodetectors to cameras and lighting equipment for industrial applications.
