SEPTEMBER 28, 2007--IDS Imaging Development Systems (Obersulm, Germany; www.ids-imaging.de), a manufacturer and supplier of machine-vision and image-processing components, has recently set up a branch in the USA. The new subsidiary, IDS Inc., is located in Cambridge, MA, and is headed by CEO Niall Worn. Previously head of sales at the IDS head office in Obersulm, Niall Worn will continue to manage IDS's international sales.
"By taking this step, we are fulfilling a long-cherished wish of our US-based OEMs as well as being able to provide real-time support to our US distributors," explains Jürgen Hartmann, one of the two company founders and managing directors. "In addition, the subsidiary also supports our growth strategy and allows us to show our colors in one of the largest machine-vision markets in the world. We are already represented in almost all European and Asian countries through exclusive distributors."
The company's products include the FALCON frame grabbers and the uEye camera series with USB and Gigabit Ethernet interfaces.
