JUNE 13, 2007--Bobby Segraves and Matt Pinter have formed a new company, Smart Vision Lights (Muskegon, MI, USA; www.smartvisionlights.com), to manufacture LED lights for use in the machine-vision industry. The new company will exclusively manufacture high-current LED lights for cameras in the vision inspection industry. The company's products include drivers and LEDs in a single housing.

Initial production of lights from the company has already begun, and lights are currently being released. Because the lights have a constant current driver inside every light, a separate driver is no longer needed; all lights have the current-limiting driver included, making no additional wiring necessary. The small and powerful smart driver is specifically engineered for lighting cameras in the vision industry. The smart driver features a high-speed strobe or pulse in addition to constant operation. The driver can run the light in a constant illumination including analog and variable intensity control. An analog option allows intensity control of the light through a 0--10-Vdc signal. The variable option allows intensity control of the light thru a variable pot.
