OCTOBER 31, 2007--Lockheed Martin Missile and Fire Control (Orlando, FL, USA; www.lockheedmartin.com) has selected Salvador Imaging, a recently acquired subsidiary of Photon Dynamics (www.photondynamics.com), a supplier of integrated yield-management solutions for the flat-panel-display market, to design and manufacture the next generation of night-vision camera system for unmanned ground vehicle systems for the US Army Future Combat Systems program. The initial development phase of the contract is valued at approximately $1.7 million, with the potential for significant production volume over the next 10 years.

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control develops, manufactures, and integrates air defense, fire support, strike weapon, naval munitions, combat vision, antiarmor, and advanced product solutions and systems for US and international armed forces.

Photon's president and chief executive officer Jeffrey Hawthorne said, "The acquisition of Salvador Imaging clearly has brought immediate benefits to Photon Dynamics. The combination of our imaging and manufacturing knowledge with Salvador's expertise in developing high-performance cameras was the driving force behind the acquisition. Lockheed's selection of Salvador Imaging for a night-vision camera provides further validation of our strategy to expand our expertise into areas beyond the flat-panel industry."
