From April 3-6 at Automate 2017 in Chicago, SICK will showcase its TriSpector1000 3D vision sensors, which are designed for 3D inspection applications. The IP67 protection class vision sensors use laser (red light, 660 nm) triangulation on objects to produce 3D images at speeds of up to 2,000 3D profiles/s. The sensors acquire multiple height profiles to build a 3D image of an object. Embedded 3D image analysis tools are applied to the 3D images and results are sent to a control system via external interfaces (GigE). TriSpector 1000 3D vision sensors feature a “small photoelectric proximity sensor for object detection and triggering 3D image acquisition,” according to the company.
