Real-time color 3D camera from Zivid Labs now officially available

Designed for 3D robotic vision applications, the Zivid 3D camera from startup company Zivid Labs is now officially available for purchase, after first being showcased at VISION 2016 in Stuttgart, Germany.

Designed for 3D robotic vision applications, the Zivid 3D camera from startup company Zivid Labs is now officially available for purchase, after first being showcased at VISION 2016 in Stuttgart, Germany. The camera is a real-time color 3D camera that is able to output 2.3 MPixel 3D RGBD images (X,Y,Z and R,G,B for each pixel) at an acquisition rate of >10 Hz, with 100 ms snapshots. The camera has an optimal working distance of 0.6 – 1.1m and a depth resolution of 0.1mm @0.6m. Additionally, the 3D camera features a USB 3.0 interface, a rugged aluminum casing that is dust and waterproof, and a passive cooling system. Zivid notes that the 3D camera could be deployed in applications such as object recognition and classification, robotic assembly, pick and place, inline quality control, and research and development.
