Semiconductor veteran from Motorola, Intel, and DEC to lead high-volume, fabless mass production

JUNE 24--SMaL Camera Technologies (Cambridge, MA; www.SMaLcamera.com), a developer of electronic imaging solutions and enabler of super-thin digital still cameras, announced the addition of Rich Hollingsworth as vice president of quality, manufacturing, and product engineering.

JUNE 24--SMaL Camera Technologies (Cambridge, MA; www.SMaLcamera.com), a developer of electronic imaging solutions and enabler of super-thin digital still cameras, announced the addition of Rich Hollingsworth as vice president of quality, manufacturing, and product engineering. Hollingsworth brings to SMaL more than 30 years experience in the development of submicron semiconductor-process technologies.

Prior to joining SMaL Rich was the vice president, manufacturing and operations, at the C-Port Network Processor Division of Motorola. He was responsible for manufacturing, product and test engineering, materials, logistics, facilities, quality, environmental health and safety, and information technology. Prior to Motorola, Hollingsworth was the plant manager of Intel's Fab17 in Hudson, MA.

At Digital Equipment Corporation, Hollingsworth served most recently as vice president, semiconductor manufacturing and technology, as well as senior corporate consulting engineer. He served on the boards of Sematech, Semiconductor Research Corporation, and the MIT Microsystems Industry Group. He has 11 US patents issued, as well as numerous technical publications. Hollingsworth received his BSEE from Princeton University and a MSEE from the University of Pennsylvania.

SMaL Camera Technologies is a developer of electronic imaging solutions for the digital camera, security and surveillance, consumer electronics, and automotive markets. SMaL's solutions are built around its proprietary CMOS image sensors, video processing ASICs, and Autobrite technology. SMaL was cofounded and launched in 1999 by electronic imaging experts at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
