APRIL 6--MaxxVision (Wellesbourne, Warwickshire, UK; www.maxxvision.co.uk), the specialist supplier of bespoke CCTV solutions, has launched a UK-based business, a sister company to MaxxVision GmbH, a European supplier of Sony OEM cameras into the security, process-control, and video-conferencing marketplaces. The company will use Sony components to create CCTV solutions for niche applications, exploiting the technical abilities of the company's personnel to ensure that all eventualities can be catered to, even where very specific threats need to be countered. Because of the nature of the solutions, a high level of technical support and after-sales service will also be available to all customers.

The directors of the UK company have an impressive track record in the electronic-security industry. Steve Hearn has in excess of 20 years experience in CCTV, electronics, and technology-based business management, including a period of seven years with Sony where he was responsible for the UK CCTV division and was also the European business manager for OEM camera products. Tony Jackson has more than 30 years experience in the security industry, including roles in high security product development. Most recently he was the managing director of Arden Technical.

Using Sony's high-quality OEM surveillance components such as camera modules, remote camera heads, pan-and-tilt assemblies, and so forth, MaxxVision will build and supply a range of specialized products to ensure that absolute quality and fitness for a given application are delivered. Among the initial offerings from MaxxVision are a rapid-deployment CCTV solution that brings together the highest available image quality with state-of-the-art transmission and telemetry, the EVI-D70 and EVI-D70P color video cameras that combine high-quality images with the flexibility of remote pan/tilt/zoom functionality in a single ceiling-mounted unit, and a full range of Vision-branded cameras. The latter units use Sony's very-high-performance FCB camera modules to ensure high-quality imaging, combined with additional functionality to offer unparalleled control and image management.

MaxxVision will be exhibiting at IFSEC 2004 and will show its full range of products.
