With a 64-dB dynamic range and noise level of 7.2 e-, the v1840high-speed camerafromVision Researchoffers the same high image quality at 18Gpix/sec as the Phantom v2640, which was released in February. The camera is based on a custom 4 MPixel CMOS image sensor that captures 12-bit images at a speed of up to 4510 fps at full resolution and 8570 fps at 1920 x 1080. Designed for flexibility, according to the company, the camera comes equipped with five operating modes: standard mode; high-speed (HS) mode (with 34% more throughput); binning in both standard and HS mode for higher sensitivity and frame rates; and now Bright Field (BF) mode for bright, or shot-noise limited, backgrounds.
Additionally, the camera features 1 and 10 GigE standard, Phantom Camera Control Software, up to 288 GB memory, and a 13.5 µm pixel size.
