Rockwell Automation (Milwaukee, WI) is combining its industrial computer operations in Milwaukee, WI, and Duluth, GA, into an Industrial Computer Business unit, which will be located in Duluth. Primarily responsible for developing factory-hardened PCs monitors, and related equipment, the new unit will be part of Rockwell`s Motion and Information Group, which develops machine-vision and software technologies, among others, under various brands.
Three-Five Systems Inc. (Tempe, AZ) has started the construction of a $4.4 million 54,000-sq ft liquid-crystal-display production facility in Beijing, China. Scheduled for completion by year-end, the facility will contain clean-room manufacturing and testing areas, sales offices, and design and training centers for use by 1200 technical and assembly employees.
Panasonic Medical & Industrial Video Co. (Secaucus, NJ) has formed a new Product & Engineering Group. This group will open an interactive communications channel between the company`s research and development laboratory and users in the medical and industrial fields in an effort to produce advanced imaging products.
The Imaging Source (Charlotte, NC), a new value-added reseller, is a joint effort of both DBS GmbH, a provider of digital imaging components in Germany, and LEAD Technologies Inc., a provider of imaging development toolkits in the United States. The new company will resell a range of products and services, including lighting, optics, cameras, frame grabbers, imaging software, accessories, and imaging-system development.
