Prophesee Launches Event-Based Vision Sensor

Oct. 17, 2023
Sensor designed for low power Edge/AI vision system applications.

Prophesee SA has launched the GenX320 Metavision sensor, an event-based neuromorphic vision sensor. An event based vision sensor enables lower power and latency than traditional cameras because each pixel works independently, capturing sparse asynchronous data driven by the individual pixels. Because each pixel only reports when it senses movement, the sensor generates significantly less data than traditional frame-based sensors. The new Prophesee sensor is 3 x 4 mm and has a 320 x 320 resolution with a 6.3 x 6.3 μm pixel size, (dB) >120 dynamic range, and 1/5 in optical format. Its ultra-low power mode is capable of down to 36μW. This sensor is designed especially for low power Edge/AI applications, including AR/VR/XR, IoT and more.
