May 29--DALSA Corp. (Waterloo, ON, Canada; www.dalsa.com) reports that its semiconductor wafer foundry in Bromont, Québec, has received a $1,000,000 order to manufacture ASICs (application-specific integrated circuits) for the industrial marketplace. The order, which comes from an existing foundry customer, is to be delivered by the end of 2003 with the anticipation of follow-on purchase activity once complete.

DALSA's semiconductor foundry has a long history in specialized ASIC manufacturing and has the capability to provide customers with wafer, probed die, or finished IC products.

"We are pleased to see the continued growth in our mixed-signal CMOS process," comments Savvas Chamberlain, DALSA chief executive officer. "This order shows further progress in our long-term strategy to have a balanced portfolio of MEMS, high-voltage CMOS, mixed-signal CMOS, and CCD image sensors."
