Vieworks cameras use piezo-crystal stage to shift CCD for various resolutions

June 6, 2012
Vision Systems Technology is distributing the recently launched Vieworks VN Series cameras, which employ piezo-crystal stage technology to micro-shift the CCD sensor.

Recently launched Vieworks VN Series cameras employ piezo-crystal stage technology to micro-shift the CCD sensor by 1/3 or 1/2 the pixel size to capture images with resolutions up to 296 Mpixels. The ability to set a custom resolution enables the camera to replace multiple cameras used in static applications, and others such as document imaging. Models in the series include VN-8MC, VN-11MC, VN-16MC, and VN-29MC, each available in monochrome or color.

Vieworks Launches 296 Million Pixel Image Capture Camera Line

Cameras use Piezo-Crystal Stage to Micro Shift the CDD resulting in up to 296 Million Pixel image capture

San Diego, CA – Vieworks, Seoul, South Korea (www.vieworks.com), a leading manufacturer of high performance 12-bit digital cameras for Medical, Industrial, Scientific, and Military market applications, announces the availability of the VN Series camera line. The VN series sets a new standard in camera design by incorporating state-of-the-art Piezo Crystal stage Technology to micro-shift the CCD by 1/3 or ½ the pixel size which results in image captures as high as 296 million pixels. Users can select the Resolution of the camera to fit exactly what they need. This new camera technology is ideal for static applications such as Document Imaging and applications using multiple cameras that can now be replaced with one.

The VN Series was named a finalist in the 2011 Prism Awards for Photonics Innovations - Detectors, Sensing, Imaging, and Cameras category. The Prism Award is an international competition sponsored by Photonics Media and SPIE to recognize cutting-edge products that break conventional ideas and improve human life through photonics.

The VN series is comprised of 4 models: VN-8MC, VN-11MC, VN-16MC, and VN-29MC. Each camera is available in either monochrome or color, with the color version resulting in True Color, and offer resolutions up to 296 million pixels.

“The addition of this new camera series to our portfolio is yet another step in providing our customers performance they have asked for. We are proud to offer our customers novel camera technology that continues to set a new standard in performance,” said Mr. Bob Kim, Managing Director, Vieworks Co. Ltd. “The VN camera series is a direct result of listening to our customers then providing technology to solve their problem.”
