SmartSens announces 4 MPixel CMOS image sensor designed for low-light conditions

SmartSens has announced the SC4210 CMOS image sensor, based on BSI technology, with a 3.0 µm pixel, 1/1.8" optical size, and the ability to run up to 60 fps at 4 MPixel resolution. The SC4210 has sensitivity up to 4800 m/Vlux, maximum signal-to-noise ratio of 43 dB, and supports a dynamic range over 100 dB.

The SC4210 has sensitivity up to 4800 m/Vlux, maximum signal-to-noise ratio of 43 dB, and supports a dynamic range over 100 dB.

The SC4210 also features NIR enhancement that doubles the quantum efficiency of the 850 nm to the 940 nm band. Among the uses SmartSens says the SC4210 is designed for are face recognition, motion cameras, and in industrial cameras. The new image sensor is now in mass production.
