Allied Vision has recently launched Alecs, a smart camera that combines Allied’s Alvium camera and Nvidia’s Jetson Orin NX 16GB. It is designed so that machine vision integrators and designers can deploy AI-based imaging processing and computer vision applications directly on the camera. Made to allow users to develop, customize, and deploy their own software solutions, Alecs features a Linux-based board support and integrated recovery mode, and is compatible with Euresys Open eVision libraries.

There are currently two models available. The Alecs LXB-G1-510m/c features a Sony IMX548 RGB color global shutter sensor with 5MPixel, 2464 x 2064 resolution and 81 fps frame rate. The LXB-G1-1242m/c has a Sony IMX545 RGB color global shutter sensor with 12 MPixel, 4128 x 3008 resolution and 40 fps frame rate.

The Alecs camera is especially designed for such machine vision applications as object identification and tracking, classification, and inspections.
