Burnaby, BC, Canada – April 6, 2026 – LUCID Vision Labs, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of industrial cameras, today announced the release of a new Phoenix camera model featuring the Gpixel GMAX4002 CMOS image sensor. The camera delivers high-sensitivity imaging with enhanced near-infrared (NIR) performance in LUCID’s ultra-compact 28 x 28 mm Phoenix form factor.

The GMAX4002 sensor offers 2.4 MP resolution (2048 × 1200) and features a large 4 × 4 µm pixel size to maximize quantum efficiency across both visible and near-infrared wavelengths, with more than 35% QE at 860 nm. Operating at up to 45.2 frames per second, the camera is ideal for applications requiring reliable imaging performance under low-light and NIR illumination conditions.

Integrated into the Phoenix platform, the camera enables improved contrast and detail in applications where standard CMOS sensors have limited sensitivity beyond the visible spectrum. These include semiconductor and electronics inspection, agricultural and food analysis, intelligent traffic systems, and scientific imaging, where capturing information in the near-infrared range is essential. The combination of high sensitivity, low noise, and consistent response across varying lighting conditions supports accurate detection and measurement in demanding environments.

“The addition of the GMAX4002 sensor to our Phoenix camera family expands our offering for applications that depend on near-infrared imaging,” said Rod Barman, Founder and President of LUCID Vision Labs. “The camera is designed to deliver strong sensitivity and reliable performance in a compact 28 x 28 mm form factor, making it well-suited for industrial and scientific vision systems where space and lighting conditions are constrained.”

Designed for seamless integration into space-constrained systems, the Phoenix camera maintains its compact form factor while delivering robust imaging performance. With a GigE Vision interface and support for the GenICam standard, it enables reliable data transmission and straightforward deployment within existing machine vision systems.

The Phoenix PHX024G camera featuring the Gpixel GMAX4002 sensor is available now.
