Compact, High-Detail Telephotos
Theia’s telephoto lenses enable license plate capture at 500 ft in visible and NIR; the 12–50mm, 9–36mm, and 9–40mm ranges deliver up to 4K, 300 lp/mm performance for sensors up to 1/1.7" in a max. compact 64mm TTl. Motorized IQ versions enable precise remote control with remote zoom, focus, and iris control that eliminates costly field intervention, with optional NIR filters for selective bandwidth sensing.
Theia’s 12–50mm telephoto offers 4K, 300 lp/mm resolution, support for sensors up to 1/1.7", NIR correction for day/night operation, and motorized models provide zoom, focus, iris control, while intelligent versions integrate with python or C++ software modules and are calibrated for precise remote control and expedited system integration. The TL936 and SL940 provide a 9–36mm and 9–40mm focal range, respectively, with 5MP+ and 4K-compatible performance for sensors up to 1/2.3".
Designed for Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS), License Plate Recognition (LPR), and tolling applications, this telephoto family from Theia Technologies is optimized for long-range imaging where consistent detail and deployment flexibility are critical. The lineup supports both visible and near-infrared capture (435–940nm), maintaining consistent focus between visible and infrared illumination, eliminating focus shift and preserving sharpness in both day and night operation.
Despite their long-range performance, the lenses remain highly compact—approximately 52mm (Lens length to mount) for 12–50mm models and 50mm for 9–40/9–36mm variants—enabling integration into space-constrained housings and ruggedized enclosures. Multiple configuration options, including manual iris, DC auto iris, P-iris, CS-mount, and board-level formats, allow flexible deployment across fixed, mobile, and embedded camera systems.
Motorized variants of the TL1250 and TL936 add remote zoom, focus, and iris control with motor stops for repeatable positioning. Optional switchable IR cut or bandpass filtering (including 850nm and 940nm configurations) further enhances adaptability for day/night switching and specialized imaging environments, reducing the need for physical site access and minimizing maintenance disruption.
For advanced system integration, the MCR IQ™ Motor Control Board and IQ Lens™ software development kit enable full remote control of lens functions via USB, UART, or I2C interfaces. Through calibrated control data and Python or C++ software modules, users can translate real-world optical requirements directly into precise motor movements, simplifying setup, reducing downtime and system maintenance.
Together, this intelligent telephoto platform combines optical precision with software-driven control to expedite deployment, improve imaging reliability, and reduce operational overhead in critical ITS, tolling, and ANPR applications—delivering high performance without added system complexity.
