With a lifting capacity of 500 kg (1102 lbs.), the MiR500 autonomous mobile robot from Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR) can automatically collect, transport, and deliver pallets with speeds of nearly 4.5 mph. The mobile robot features a SICK microScan3 360° laser scanner, which provides visual protection around the robot, as well as two 3D cameras for the detection of objects ahead, 300 to 2000 mm above the floor.
MiR’s new robot incorporates the same safety features as the rest of the MiR product line, allowing it to navigate safely around people and obstacles with all the safety standards required for TÜV certification. Through the robot’s hardware and software, it can recognize obstacles in 360°, allowing the robot to navigate navigate autonomously via the most efficient route to its destination – even in dynamic environments where people and vehicles are moving, according to MIR. Additionally, the robot features a 1300 x 900 mm load surface and an 8-hour run-time with a 1-hour battery charge.
