Luxonis (Denver, CO, USA) has launched a new fully self-contained edge AI camera system, the OAK 4 series, capable of achieving up to 52 TOPS.

The OAK 4 series is a fully self-contained platform that includes computer, perception, and cloud management capabilities, with all components contained in an IP67 rated aluminum housing. The OAK 4 series currently include four new devices, each of which features an onboard Qualcomm QCS8550 processor that integrates ISP, 6-core CPU +GPU, and NSPU running Yocto Linux OS. Depending on the model, OAK 4 devices include a stereo depth camera pair, 48 MPixel RGB camera with IMX586 RGB rolling shutter sensors, IR dot projector, IR illumination LED, 9 axis IMU, microphone, and wide FOV. They are equipped with PoE and USB inputs.

In addition, the company is launching Hub, a cloud-based platform that enables users of varying skill levels to more easily deploy and operate vision devices such as OAK 4, by enabling integration of systems, models, and devices into one location. It is especially designed for “plug and play” deployment for users of all expertise levels.

The OAK 4 series is especially designed for AI vision applications, particularly 3D applications, including precision measurement and gauging, industrial applications, and inspections, across a wide range of environments.
