the term "Smart Spaces" describes any space (indoor or outdoor) that can be made smarter, more efficient, or more productive by adding visual AI processing.  It covers numerous large markets: consumer (homes — indoor and outdoor), commercial (office buildings, retail), infrastructure (highways, ports), industrial (warehouses, recycling, manufacturing), public spaces (schools, campuses, stadiums, public transit), agriculture (fields, greenhouses), and healthcare (hospitals, elder care).

Applications include: pedestrian safety at intersections; conformation with construction plans at job sites; access control for security; elder monitoring/fall prevention in hospitals; and compliance detection (e.g., safety vest and personal protective gear at a industrial site).
