Sky Computer SKYbolt II 9U VME accelerator features the company`s own SKYChannel 320-Mbyte/s packet bus, VME64 compatibility, and SKYburst 160 FPDP I/O interface. SKYbolt II 9U uses motherboards in combination with I/O and daughter cards to increase performance and throughput. When configured with four Shamrock II daughter cards, the system runs at 1.28 GFLOPs. A superscalar i960CA resident on the motherboard manages data acquisition, scheduling, and overhead tasks independently. Additional ports allow connection to VME64 and a SKYchannel backplane. Configurations are less than $30,000 in OEM quantities.
