Multiple processors are modular
Traquair`s multiple-processor DSP boards feature modular processor, data acquisition, and I/O capabilities, which can be combined with the use of Heart, the company`s communication system. As a PCI-based DSP board, the HEPC8 board supports single-board configurations to outputs of 4 GFLOPs or 6400 MIPs and as many as four TMS320C6000 DSPs. TMS320C6000 DSPs, data-acquisition interfaces, and I/O resources can be added to the HEPC8 as small mezzanine cards known as Heron modules. Each module can incorporate a processor, memory, and data acquisition or I/O interface in any combination. To address more-complex applications, the PCI-based HEPC9 also supports Heron modules and the Heart communication system and services. Heron processor modules are available with 200-MHz TMS320C 6201 and 167-MHz TMS320C6701 DSPs, fitted with a combination of on-board SBSRAM and SDRAM.
