JUNE 16--Absolute Vision (Meriden, UK; www.absolutevision.co.uk), a developer of two-dimensional (2-D) code-reading and machine-vision solutions, has achieved sales in excess of £0.25 million in its last quarter of trading for FY2004-2005, with ambitious targets set for the coming year. Richard Laight, head of business development, said, "We are delighted with these figures that are a reflection of the investment we have made into the continuous development and upgrading of our products. Traceability is becoming a requirement across an ever more diverse range of industries. We believe our success in the areas of laboratory automation and engineering will stand us in good stead in the year ahead when we will be looking at how DataMatrix codes can be beneficial to markets such as the automotive industry. In addition we are hoping to increase our presence in the US, where 2-D is already an established protocol."

In addition to its planned expansion into new markets, Absolute Vision plans to invest in its workforce. A program of training and personal development is being implemented, and the company hopes to announce two new appointments before the autumn.
