StockerYale wins order for LED illuminators

MARCH 20--StockerYale Inc., a supplier of photonics-based products based in Salem, NH (www.stockeryale.com), has been awarded an $800,000 order for custom-designed, light-emitting-diode (LED) illuminators from an unnamed European OEM customer. According to the company, its LED illuminator is being designed into a high-technology security system. The award represents a major win for its LED product line, the company says.

StockerYale's facility in Cork, Ireland, will manufacture and ship all units by the end of 2003. This order represents the single largest illumination and LED order since the introduction of the illumination product line in June 2000, with StockerYale's acquisition of Ireland's CorkOpt Ltd.
