Over the past 10 years, Omron and Yaskawa have maintained an OEM relationship for motion-control products, and now both companies will engage in joint sales activities. The new company will handle sales, technical support, and customer service for standard motion-control products from Yaskawa (inverters, thermo drives, and so forth) and motion-related products from Omron (motion units for PLCs, and so forth).

Yaskawa standard motion-control products will be sold under the double brand name of Omron Yaskawa. With the new joint venture, Omron will expand its business with capabilities for integrated motion automation. Yaskawa will move its standard motion-control product sales function to the new company and will concentrate on direct sales business to leading customers.
