DECEMBER 6--The FS-8000C from Kyocera Mita (Kyoto, Japan) is the first color laser printer to operate without toner cartridges. Based on the proven economical and environmentally friendly ECOSYS technology, the FS-8000C uses a hard-wearing printer drum and other long-life components and requires only one consumable--toner, reducing waste by up to 80%.
Impressively low printing costs result from the use of the ECOSYS technology, which is, for the first time, incorporated in a color laser printer. Cost per page is less than 5 Euro cents per page at 5% coverage per color--offering the lowest cost per page in the color laser printing market. The FS-8000C also offers the lowest cost per page in monochrome, printing at less than 0.5 Euro cent (at 5% coverage), which is cheaper than any comparable monochrome laser printer without ECOSYS technology.
The FS-8000C can also be enhanced with a wide range of options. Its modular design means it can be tailored to individual requirements and is ideal for all color printing in the office, presentations, newsletters, and images from standard office applications such as Excel and Power Point.
High output speed, networking capabilities, brilliant color, and excellent print quality of 600-dpi resolution are achieved using multibit technology, which facilitates an enormous increase in the resolution, and, consequently the printing quality. Images can be produced where each single dot can be printed using 256 color scales per color in 600 x 600 dpi. The user can also select a mode in the printer driver to choose between a glossy or matt finish.
