MAY 3--MVTec Software will open a support center for the USA and Canada by the end of 2006, most likely in the Boston, MA, area. Thus, MVTec's software products HALCON and ActivVisionTools come closer to the American market.
The responsibility of MVTec US will be to intensify existing agreements with distributors and partners in the machine-vision community. Thus, it will operate as a support center for the existing North American distribution companies. Its main objective will be to effect closer customer relations by supporting the distributors' sales activities. Moreover, MVTec US will hold free training sessions, support distributors at seminars and industrial shows, and accompany distributors to customer visits.
