Metso purchases Viconsys machine vision systems business

Finnish engineering and manufacturing company Metso has acquired the Viconsys web inspection and web break system business.

Metso (Helsinki, Finland) has acquired the Viconsys (Jyvaskyla, Finland) web inspection and web break system business. The acquired business, comprising approximately 30 people, will be affiliated to Metso's Energy and Environmental Technology Segment. The objective of the acquisition is to complement Metso's product and service offerings to the paper and other process industry. The expanding product offering will fit well to Metso's global sales and service network. Through this network, Metso is able to improve customer service for existing and new customers of acquired business. Viconsys is known as an industry benchmark and global market leader in the machine vision technology. Within three years, it has been able to get more than 100 delivery references. Metso is a global supplier of sustainable technology and services for mining, construction, power generation, automation, recycling and the pulp and paper industries.
