I enjoyed your article "New technologies vie with holographic techniques for 3-D display" (Vision Systems Design, May 1998, p. 50) but have one quarrel with it. You left out an emerging field of holographically based 3-D TV which I call"Holographic Autosteriography." Around the country companies have developed an idea tracing back to Dennis Gabor--the inventor of holography--for using a holographic screen to send the proper image to the proper eyes to allow the viewer to see a stereo image with

Around the country companies have developed an idea tracing back to Dennis Gabor--the inventor of holography--for using a holographic screen to send the proper image to the proper eyes to allow the viewer to see a stereo image without funny glasses. The results are dramatic.
