SEPTEMBER 9, 2008--Edmund Optics (EO; Barrington, NJ, USA; www.edmundoptics.com), a producer of optics, imaging, and photonics technology, has appointed Clark Harris as manager of marketing for Asia and Vincent Thong as director of sales for Asia. This team, along with other staff in the region, will be responsible for further development of sales and brand awareness throughout Asia.
Harris will work directly with Marisa Edmund, EO's VP of global marketing, to further expand the company's strategic marketing plans in Asia. He returns client-side after working as a director with a word-of-mouth marketing agency in Asia. His senior positions at Signet, Homebase, and Sainsbury's, together with more than 20 years of operations experience solidify his marketing skills. Harris has a Marketing BA Hons from Manchester Metropolitan University and a post-graduate diploma in marketing from Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Thong, formerly an optical R&D and assembly operations manger, has been managing international sales for eight years. He has an MBA from the University of Dubuque, IA and diplomas in mechanical engineering and industrial management. He has worked with Hitachi Koki and Qioptiq.
