6th EMVA Conference reaches record level of international attendance

MAY 9, 2008--The 6th European Machine Vision (EMVA) Business Conference took place in Berlin, Germany, April 11 and 12, 2008.

MAY 9, 2008--The 6th European Machine Vision (EMVA; www.emva.org) Business Conference took place in Berlin, Germany, April 11 and 12, 2008. With more than 170 participants from 20 countries the EMVA Conference once again drew a record number of attendees. The following countries were represented: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Denmark, Finland, France, Israel, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Portugal, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Slovenia, Turkey, UK, and USA.

Four sessions focused on machine vision in Germany, technology, and business trends, as well as machine-vision markets. Attendees received first-hand information on vision markets in Germany, Italy, and Israel.

At the EMVA General Assembly, Cor Maas, cofounder and president of LMI Technologies, was introduced as a new member of the EMVA executive committee. He follows Martin Wäny, CEO of AWAIBA, who had resigned from the executive committee due to personal reasons. The next elections for the EMVA executive committee will take place at the EMVA Conference in Dublin, Ireland, in 2009.
