A free webcast from Vision Systems Design will explore the developments in embedded processors and software tools that are driving the growth of embedded vision systems.

Specifically, it will discuss the many classes of processors used in embedded vision systems, including CPUs, DSPs, FPGAs, GPUs and ASSPs, and their key strengths and weaknesses.

The one hour webcast will be presented by Jeff Bier, the founder of the Embedded Vision Alliance and Co-Founder and President of Berkeley Design Technology.

At Berkeley Design Technology, Bier oversees the benchmarking and analysis of ICs, tools, and other technologies, and is also a contributor to the company’s consulting services, which focus on product-development, marketing, and strategic advice for companies using and developing signal processing technologies.

Bier is a recognized industry expert and sought-after speaker, frequently presenting talks on signal processing applications and technologies. He is also a frequent contributor to InsideDSP, an online newsletter dedicated to digital signal processing technology. He earned BS and MS degrees from Princeton University and UC Berkeley.

The webcast will take place on June 5, 2012 at 12:00pm Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). You can register to attend here.
