APRIL 1, 2009--LMI Technologies (Delta, BC, Canada; www.lmitechnologies.com) recently signed a distribution agreement with ControlVision to partner and sell the maestro controller modules and FireSync vision-sensor platform products from LMI.
ControlVision provides state-of-the–art vision and robotics products and support to system integrators and OEMs throughout Australia and New Zealand.
"Where LMI Technologies is well known and respected in the forestry industry, we also see a great opportunity for LMI vision components in the meat, dairy, and food and beverage industries," explains David Berry, managing director of ControlVision. "Over the past six years ControlVision has built up a reputation as a can-do supplier into these markets. Maestro and FireSync nicely complement our existing hardware and software product offering."
LMI's business model has typically focused on OEMs and system integrators for specific vertical market applications under the Sensors That See brand. In 2007, LMI's in-house R&D team decided to focus on the general machine-vision industry with its FireSync component platform for machine-vision applications. Since this time, the company's product lines in this area also encompass HexSight software and hardware, as well as the recently launched maestro product line.
Established in 2003 to provide support for machine-vision solutions for New Zealand manufacturers, ControlVision has grown with offices in Melbourne, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand, and includes a network of partners throughout Australasia.
