JULY 3--To support its growing customer base in Southeast Asia, US-based machine-vision supplier Applied Vision (Akron, OH, USA) recently opened a service and support center in Malaysia and a direct-sales office in Singapore. "Machine vision is a necessity in Southeast Asia due to increasing competitive pressures and rising quality standards," said Bud Patel, vice president of business development at Applied Vision. Applied Vision's Southeast Asian support services are based in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Through a strategic partnership with Formach Asia, Applied Vision offers 24-hour technical support on its line of machine-vision inspection systems for packaging, food and beverage containers, and color printing.
